Do you believe in God?

There is a subtle difference between these two sentences. Do you see it?

Believe in God.

Believe God.

Do you believe in God? Many do.

Many people believe in God. They believe in a Supreme Being out there — in fact, lots of pagans believe a God exists. Some even believe that the God of the Bible is real, but they still don’t place their trust in Him.*

Do you believe God? Many don’t.

When the enemy whispers that you are wasting your time obeying God, do you believe God?

He says you are assured of reward (1 Corinthians 15:58)

When the enemy whispers you are unattractive, do you believe God?

He says you are beautiful (Isaiah 61:10)

When the enemy whispers you are unloved, do you believe God?

He says you are cherished (Ephesians 5:29)

When the enemy whispers you can’t do it, do you believe God?

He says you are empowered to obey (Philippians 2:13)

When the enemy whispers God forgot about you, do you believe God?

He says you are inscribed on His palms (Isaiah 49:16)

When the enemy whispers you need to be afraid, do you believe God?

He says you have no fear (John 14:1, 27)

When the enemy whispers you are insignificant, do you believe God?

He says you are royalty (Romans 5:17, 8:16-17)

When the enemy whispers you are poor, do you believe God?

He says you are rich (2 Corinthians 2:8,9)

Picture Explanation: Take some time to look up this week. When you do, see beyond the clouds and sun. Somewhere beyond what you can see with your eyes is the throne of God. Don’t just believe in Him, believe Him.

  1. Laurie, I love your blog and I look forward to receiving it in my in-box every weekend.

I just listened to your lesson on “The Widow.” Oh, my goodness! You taught the truth so clearly! And, dear one, Jesus has 100% of you! Thank you for the effort you put into living for Him. Christ is gloriously on display in your life!

    Much love to you,
    Dianne Stavropoulos

    1. Oh my, what a nice note. I really fell in love with the widow. I am so glad God sees the truth about everyone. I am sure He doesn’t have 100% of me but I know He is all I really have. Nothing else in life is certain. Let’s both display Him.

  2. Thank you, Laurie! I need to print this out and read this when I’m believing lies the enemy whispers to me. Such a great reminder!!!

1 Corinthians 3:6
