Is your picture of God too small?

Watch this 1.5 minute video clip HERE and then ask these questions about God.

(@AMAZINGNATURE on Twitter, 1/1/2019 at 12:37 p.m.)

Are you really handing God your problems? THIS God, not a smaller version you have in your head.

…do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6, 7)

Do you understand God resides in you in the form of the Holy Spirit? THIS sized God, not a smaller version you have in your head.

Thus says the LORD: “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool; what is the house that you would build for me, and what is the place of my rest? All these things my hand has made, and so all these things came to be, declares the LORD. But this is the one to whom I will look: he who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at my word. (Isaiah 66:1-2. Stephen also referenced these verses in Acts 7:48-49 while being stoned.)

Can we just glory in that today? God resides in His people. We then decide if we are going to resist the Spirit of God that resides inside of us, or surrender to His leading and transforming power.

Do you stand in awe of Him? He spoke all of this into being and holds it all together.

Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him! For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm. (Psalm 33:8-9)

Do you comprehend He gave all of this authority to His Son, and through His Son we have access?

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. (Colossians 1:15-17)

If you have time, and life isn’t in full swing yet, I write about our prayers slicing through singing stars HERE and HERE, and speak about it HERE.

Marvel at the privilege.

We get to know intimately a God of this power and enormity. His Spirit resides in all who have accepted Christ’s payment on the cross for our sins. Through Him, we have full access to all of this grandeur.

Let’s not live one moment of our lives separated from this magnificence. Let’s take full advantage.

Picture Explanation: While standing on the ocean’s edge during a recent visit to see friends in Florida, I was inspired to pray this: “Lord, give me faith without borders. I don’t think I am there yet. Please do that work in me.”

May we all dare to pray that our faith is expansive.

Planting and Watering

I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth. So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God who causes growth.
