Merry Christmas

To my beautiful blog subscribers and to anyone else who stops in this week, thank you for visiting this address in cyberspace in 2019.

This month we have been contemplating what life must have been like for Mary, the mother of Jesus. On this Christmas day, I imagine her holding a baby that is completely dependent on her for His physical care.

Imagine the God-man infant being completely dependent on Mary.

As an adult, Jesus later said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
 (Matthew 18:3)

Every Bible translation says that apart from Jesus we can do nothing: I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. Check it out HERE.

Sure, we can go to work and raise a family, for instance, but we have no power to produce good results with our efforts. Ever do your best and things still failed?

Only Jesus can leverage our lives for good eternal results.

Let’s tell Jesus we need Him today, and let’s carry that dependence into every day of the new year. Roll out of bed each day and first tell Him you need Him. Or, express your dependence even before your feet hit the floor.

We can do nothing without Jesus.

God promised to make a way to restore our relationship with Him…

and the promise hinged on the arrival of today’s baby.

Have a glorious day.

Picture Explanation: Our family has a tradition of attending a production of the Christmas Carol every year. It’s a glorious night all around and this year was no exception. I love hearing the traditional Christmas carols that still announce the coming of the King. This year a boyfriend joined us too. It was fun introducing him to our annual venture. Another daughter also flew in for the weekend and I got to spend an entire day with her, just me and her. What a gift the day was, and what a gift she is.

  1. Great eternal-minded thoughts in today’s blog posting!
You can not build a house without a “cornerstone”!
And we need that “firm foundation” in order to have a strong “house”.
God bless you and your family.

Planting and Watering

I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth. So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God who causes growth.
